A vintage-lab inspired restaurant in the heart of Montreal’s Monkland Village.
The space, once a video store, was transformed into a cozy and visually stimulating open kitchen-style restaurant featuring a variety of salvaged, up-cycled and customized elements.
In the front of the restaurant, a custom metal display unit is filled authentic vintage lab equipment.
The large industrial light fixtures are salvaged factory lights that have been up-cycled and given a new look.
Fun DIY: Spray paint old light fixtures!
Depth and interest are created through layering a plethora of materials including brick, steel, barn wood, and marble. The majority of the decor features custom metal work and rich walnut. The soft light from the vintage bulbs create warmth.
Best seat in the house! The bar area features a gorgeous walnut top with a extra overhang, oversized custom barstools, and purse hooks… everything needed for a comfortable dining experience!
After the video store was dismantled and cleared out…a blank canvas!
Small treasures and remnants from it’s former life as a video store are placed around the restaurant as decor.
The covered terrace is the perfect place to grab a drink and people watch!
