A cool re-purpose of an old Chinese water bucket.
The graphic for the planter is inspired by the markings on wooden wine crates.
Start by cutting the handle and arms off the bucket. Using a power sander, smooth out the surface where you cut and remove as much of the original stain/paint as you want (totally up to you!) I left a little bit on this one to add to the “aged” look. If you are planning on painting or staining the planter, do it at this point.
Next, make the artwork for your transfer on the computer and when you are happy with the way it looks, flip the image so it looks backward to you. Print on inkjet printer (will not work on a laser) and transfer it onto the wood. There are many methods of doing this, I used water and burnished with a sharpie…there are many helpful tutorials can be found online.
